A few weeks back, it was fire safety week. Most schools have fire trucks and firemen visit and the kids get to check things out and learn about fire safety. Well, since I’m homeschooling my kids, I wanted my kids to have the same experience…just better! One morning, a friend and I took our 6 kids to the local fire house to check out the fire trucks, the fire house and say hi to the firemen. The kids had a BLAST and the firemen couldn’t have been more kind, loving and patient towards our kids (they were all young guys and most had small children our kids’ ages!). All week I spent time showing the kids were our fire alarms were, teaching them what to do if I fire happens, and doing lots of fire safety activities. We all had fun, but the highlight was definitely their visit to the fire station!
