The BIG Question…

Is it time for potty training???
(or just a phase…???)

I pose this question because Riley is constantly taking off her pants and then her diaper, running into her room and going to the bathroom all over the floor or in her crib during naps.

Here’s an example: When we got home from my Aunt’s on Easter Sunday I was getting her undressed on the floor in the living room and she stood up so we could get her dress off and all of a sudden she took off…into her room. By the time I got up (it takes me a while to get up now) and into her room she had shut herself in the closet, taken off her tights and diaper and had pooped…EVERYWHERE!! She even stepped in it so I spent the next 30 minutes scrubbing poop off the floor, on my hands and knees, while Ty gave her a bath. GROSS!! Needless to say she no longer runs around without a onesie on…she hasn’t figured out those snaps yet (thankfully, or we’d be in trouble :)!!)

I’m going to get her a “potty seat” this weekend and see what she thinks about it…I guess I better start reading my books about how to potty train!!! I’m not going to force her to begin now, she’s still pretty young, but if she wants to–why not?? We’ll keep you posted…

  1. It is a BIG question! Hailey\’s had a potty seat for a while (we got it because she was interested). She wanted to get on the potty at a restaurant instead of changing her diaper. We haven\’t gone gung-ho yet, but we have it in the bathroom and she sits on it when we go. I heard the first couple times you should run the bath water to give \’em a little help! I think it\’s good to get them used to it first. Sounds like she\’s really interested! We\’ll see!
