(That’s what I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs this morning!)
We had a rough morning today. Lincoln has been fussy and wants to be held 24/7 and Riley hasn’t been obeying very well (actually, she hasn’t been obeying AT ALL). She’s already gotten a time-out and has been getting into EVERYTHING. This morning I was doing the dishes from breakfast and I heard Riley whining-this is where I found her:
She was stuck in the toilet!
Then I was nursing Lincoln an hour later and whenever I nurse Lincoln, Riley NEVER listens and decides to act out the most (which I know is just for attention because at that moment I’m giving all my attention to Lincoln because he’s nursing). So she decided to stand in Lincoln’s swing which obviously moves and so I told her to get down because she was going to get hurt and before I could count to 5 she fell right on the metal “foot” of the swing and started SCREAMING! Here is the result of the swing incident:
OUCH!!
Here is her new “black eye”, to go along with the chunk out of her cheek on the other side!
“The black eye”, right after her bath before bedtime!
I was so upset with her when she wasn’t listening and then she fell, then all she wanted was to be held, then I felt so bad that she got hurt. Poor thing, I feel so awful when she gets hurt, I wish it were me instead of her! I just wish she’d listen the first time. Sometimes, I get so sick of saying “Riley, get down now or you’re getting a timeout” or “Riley, leave Lincoln alone please”. Life would be so much easier if kids would listen the first time :)…wishful thinking, I know! Hopefully she heals quickly, thankfully it hasn’t slowed her down and doesn’t seem to bother her!

I feel so much better sometimes when I read you blog because I realize that I am not the only one going through some of the things. While Joey has never been in a toilet, he sure had done things I told him not to do and ended up with black eyes. I\’ll bet Joey has had 3 or 4 blacks eyes so far and he\’s only almost 23 months old. My hubby says Joey is almost 2 going on 22 atleast that\’s what he thinks. He has even started trying to climb on our coffee table. I hope Riley feels better soon and starts to listen better now that she sees the consequences.Does time-out seem to work for Riley? Because Joey seems to have no understanding of Timeout and won\’t even sit anywhere hardly.
