Lincoln @ 3 months

I can’t believe our little Lincoln is already 3 months old! He is growing like a weed and, as you can see, is fitting into his 12 month white onesie pretty well. He smiles like crazy and laughs at just about anything. He also needs a lot of attention. It’s funny because if we’re playing with him, then walk away he starts crying, then as soon as we come back he gets the biggest smile on his face. We’re definitely wrapped around his finger. He is still sleeping through the night, but has grown out of his bassinet. His head and feet were both almost touching the ends of it, so he is now graduated to his pack-n-play and is still sleeping in our room. He goes to sleep on his own, without being rocked, but loves having his hand held. If he’s fussy around nap time all we have to do is hold his hand and look at him and he falls asleep really easily (usually)! He is also starting to suck his thumb, I’m not sure I want him to start that because I sucked mine until I was probably 8!! 🙂

I took him to the doctor today to get a weight check because everytime after he is finished nursing he screams, like he still wants more, but he won’t keep eating. He only nurses for a total of 7-8 minutes, so I was afraid he wasn’t getting enough, but the doctors said his weight gain is wonderful. He weighs 14 lbs. 2 ounces now and is in the 75%ile. He has also gained 1 lb. 5 oz. since last month. I also met with a lactation specialist who weighed him before I fed him and then again after to see how much milk he’s actually getting, and she said it’s perfect, so I guess there’s no need to worry. When I pump I know I am producing enough, so they assume he just wants to keep sucking. I am thankful I am able to beastfeed, but I always have hated not knowing exactly how much he is eating. OH, and, the MD confirmed that I’ve now got a bouncing, BROWN-EYED, baby boy!!! WAHOO WHOOO!! This little one did get something from me, unlike Riley :)!
