The theme: BUGS!!! (the cute kind:))

Made by yours truly! I started these way ahead of time and love “scrap booking” so I thought I’d try my hand at making Ri’s birthday invites to go along with her bugs theme. (I wish I could get the credit for the creative idea but can’t…I found it on another blog, but unfortunately can’t remember the web address otherwise I’d give them credit!)
The Menu: Cocktail Meatballs, Pigs in a Blanket, Pasta Salad, Fruit, Veggies and Dip, Chips and Dip, bug cupcakes, caterpillar cake, and dirt and worms. (YES, this took forever to make, especially trying to take care of 2 kids at the same time–thankfully I got lots of help from the hubby and sis-in-law!!)
The Caterpillar “Cake”: (made with jumbo cupcakes)

Gift Table:

Riley blew out her candles and started devouring her cupcake. Her and best bud, Hailey, ate most of the frosting (the sugariest part, of course). They were too cute though!

Riley got so many great gifts from everyone (THANK YOU). We got her a huge Kitchen Set, Radio Flyer tricycle with the adult steering handle, Lincoln got her a Melissa and Doug wooden puzzle and Ty got her a Superman T-shirt from Baby Gap :). She got great gifts: clothes, play food for her kitchen, a “grocery cart”, the most annoying Elmo toy (thanks a lot Kol and Britton), and so much more!!
Her brand new kitchen:

Family picture minus Lincoln (he was sleeping in someone else’s arms :)).
Group shots while eating lunch:

Kolby and Britton came up all the way from Indiana to share in Riley’s special day. It was so good to see them again and I was so glad they came. Britton helped me out so much on Sunday before the party, I don’t know how I would have gotten it all done without her help!!! Whether it was waiting around for the pigs in a blanket to get done cooking, shopping for last minute necessities, or playing with the kids so I could shower, I can’t thank her enough!!!

looks like it turned out really well, wish we could have made it! the bug themed food looked yummy. It makes me wish I had taken time to make cute cupcakes for Hunters b-day 🙂 lol.
