I found out this afternoon about a great deal going on until tonight (8/04–I think) and I took advantage of it! You have to have a LOT of coupons to do it and since I do, I got a lot of stuff. Here is what I got:
1 gallon of milk
36 boxes of cereal
6 Natural peanut butter jars
2 Mott’s Applesauce
1 bunch of bananas
When you buy 6 boxes of Big G cereal you get a $2 off your next order and 2 coupons for a free gallon of milk. BUT, when you buy the milk it doesn’t take off 1.98 (the price of milk at our Meijer) it takes off the entire 4.50…Great deal, wish I would have found out about it sooner.
I tried to break down how I did the deal but I had a lot of issues with the machines not working, so it was difficult to do. Some of my coupons didn’t spit out of the machine, so I got cash back instead of the coupon. I paid 37.12 out of pocket, but got back 11 coupons for FREE gallons of milk AND 29.50 in coupons on my next purchase! So for all that’s in the picture, plus 11 additional gallons of milk I paid (with coupons deducted) a whopping $7.62!!!
Also, just to make clear, my kids don’t eat this kind of cereal because they don’t know the difference and I wouldn’t let them eat it if they wanted to, but I, on the other hand, could live off of it. I know it’s so bad for me, but when it comes to eating I’m like a 10 year old. SO picky and I still always order chicken fingers when we go out to dinner…enough said I think :).

cool! I have tons of Gen Mills coupons so I could probably do it- my luck is that it ended last night! But maybe I will go and try just in case! Thanks!!!!!!!!!

BOOOO I went to Meijers today (had to get dinner stuff anyways) and I bought 6 boxes of the cereal- nothing printed out 😦 Oh well- the cereal I got was on sale for 2.19 and I had a 1.00 off of 2 so it wasn't too bad and we whip through cereal… yikes- I DO give Maeve sugar cereal… and I eat special K! I'm blaming this on Ryan though b/c he LOVES all that sugary stuff and she has tried bites of his and now has to have that. Fortunately she also loves toast and waffles and oatmeal so she doesn't eat cereal too often 🙂

hmmm…that's weird, I really think that something should have printed. I think what was over was the $2 coupon AND the Free milk coupons printing at the same time. BUT, you should have still gotten the FREE milk coupons as long as you bought the right stuff…Are you sure that machine was working? Yesterday that's what happened to me, the catalina machine was jammed so the coupons didn't print like they should have. I have another friend who's going to do the deal today so I'll let you know if she has the same experience.

yeah def. let me know if it works for your friend! 🙂 I have major issues with the meijer catalinas. For one, the cashiers never know what is supposed to print out- so when I tell them \”there is supposed to be a 2.00 coupon that prints out\” they act \”dumb\” like they have no clue what to do. So I don't depend much on them! But I still have a million gen mills coupons so if it works for your friend maybe I'll go back and be a bit more demanding!

hey! Okay- just ran up to Meijer- BY MYSELF so I could figure this thing out. IT WORKED! Well- the first 2 times… then the third time nothing printed out! 😦 Soooooo long story short, the customer service manager wrote me up a coupon for 4 dollars off milk 😦 BOOO. Even though I explained that the coupons that were printing out were for 4.50- he still said \”well our milk is 1.89 this week.\” Oh well- I got 18 boxes, 3 gallons of milk and 5 milk coupons for 20.84! 🙂 Thanks SO MUCH for the heads up- BTW my coupons said that the deal goes until the 8th!!!!!!!!!!

The coupon deal is good until the 8th, but ONLY the milk coupons will spit out. The $2 one was good until yesterday, so you won't get the milk coupon AND the $2 one. Still a good deal, just not as good.
