My Hips Don’t Lie

As a disclaimer, I really am not complaining in this post but maybe, just maybe, I am a little…

I wrote this on Facebook so most of you have already heard it, but I’m not kidding I feel like this pregnancy has seriously taken a toll on my body. Having 3 kids in 3.5 years is a lot and I’m feeling it this time around. My hips seriously hurt so bad that it hurts to lay down, hurts to walk, hurts to pick the kids up, hurts to sit, you get the picture…

Maybe it’s because I’m bigger than most people are at 24 weeks, I don’t know. All I know is that I absolutely love being pregnant, but these are the parts of pregnancy I could definitely do without! As you may recall when I delivered Lincoln my tailbone was fractured. It has always bothered me since, but I felt like it was tolerable but for some reason lately it KILLS especially when I sit too long or sleep on my back! I really wish I could go back to sleeping on my stomach, although I’m not sure that would be very comfortable at this point. Anyways, I will continue to enjoy this pregnancy and praise the Lord for a healthy baby girl and be thankful for no complications thus far, I’m just hoping these pains don’t last.

  1. Hey, i hear ya….my hips killed when i was pregnant w/ micah especially at night when i had to sleep on my side but as soon he was born that issue went away so hopefully that will be the case for you too.

  2. I think you are Wonder Woman Shelby! I don't know how you do it, but I definitely admire you and wish you weren't so uncomfortable. Anyway, I have to give my plug for PT. We had a women's health PT give a few lectures recently and they were really good. There is a whole niche of women's health PT and a lot of the clients are women with pre and post-natal issues. They may not be able to address your particular issues, but if they can, your last few months of pregnancy could be much more tolerable. If your doctor is on board, he/she may be able to recommend someone and/or give you a referral.

  3. Hey Shelby…sorry your so uncomfortable. I hated those last couple months, but Mariska, problems started for me at about 4/5 months. 😦 Anyway, I don't know if you've tried this or not, but just thought I'd through it out there…a body pillow. I got one after I started having back & leg problems w/Mariska and it did help. I recently got t out again because of all the back & leg problems I've been having again. Anyway…I'm glad baby girl is doing well I hope the remainder of our pregnancy doesn't get anymore uncomfortable.

  5. i get hip pains in my left hip. my left side (by my rib) keeps getting a weird cramp… so i have been having issues sleeping too. my right side has been the most comfortable. i have a body pillow that i have been putting behind me, so when i roll to my \”back\” i'm not fully on my back but i'm not fully on my side- that's been the most comfortable.you'll have to post a new belly picture. 🙂 i'll get one up soon too 😉
