Sibling Love

Emmersyn is one lucky girl because she has two older siblings who absolutely adore her! To say that Riley was excited to have a little sister would be an understatement! She was thrilled and when she found out Mommy had “her baby” she couldn’t wait to meet her. Lincoln, too, was actually really excited. I wasn’t sure if he really “got it” but he really seemed to. My mom brought the kids to the hospital that evening and they were over the moon to meet Emmersyn. They were NOT happy about leaving the hospital, in fact, Ty had to drag them out kicking and screaming…we had to reassure them that she was going to be with us forever, she just couldn’t go home with them right then!

Since being home, this past week, it has been crazy but the older two have been wonderful with her. The biggest surprise has been Lincoln. I knew Riley would be great with her, but I was a little worried that Lincoln would be jealous or not even pay attention to her. He has been quite the opposite, though. He constantly wants to hold her and is ALWAYS kissing her. Riley enjoys helping me change her diaper and getting diapers for me. I am thankful they seem to be having an easy transition. We’ll see how things go once Ty goes back to work next week…
