UPDATE: My Dad will be having surgery on Wednesday, Sept. 15th at Northwestern in Chicago. I was SO glad to fly home and see him before the surgery and am hoping to fly home again next weekend to see him in the hospital. I don’t even know where to being this post. My Dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Friday and may be having brain surgery to remove the tumor this coming Friday (either this Friday or next). To say that I am completely devastated would be an understatement! I am flying home with Emmersyn this afternoon so I can see him before the surgery and to spend some time with him. I can’t wait for Emmesyn to meet him, too!
I normally wouldn’t post family “stuff” on my blog, but in doing so I am hoping that people will join together and PRAY for him. I know our God is a healing God and I truly believe He can do anything. I’m not sure I’ve prayed this much ever and I’m hoping you all will join with me. I am so sad that my Dad has to go through all of this, but he is strong and is a fighter! Please pray for him, for me and for the rest of our family!

Shelby – we were shocked to hear the news this past weekend, too. We spent some time praying together as a family when Grammy, Grandad, Kasey, Corey and Micah were there. Know that we will be thinking of you and praying for all of you as he heads into surgery.

We're definitely praying for him. I'm glad it worked out for you to get to MI early to see him (and Emmersyn too). Always remember to trust in God. I know your dad is strong and we'll be cheering for him up here in Grand Rapids when he has his surgery. Keep me posted and I'll see you soon!
